What has moved me towards a simpler life…so that I am now evaluating what is important to me AND I am letting go of anything that does not have meaning? Embracing simplicity came with the death of a beloved family member. The pace of death can be swift taking health and all possessions RIGHT NOW, or its stride is variable, faster on some days and slower on others. Seeing death up close, makes living simply and authentically more urgent.
It is almost as if the “noise” of accumulating stuff has dropped away, and what is left is clarity. The constant distraction of what I want is replaced now with a sharper vision of what I really do need—time with family and friends and helping to support my clients as they actively participate in their own health and healing.
My Simpler Life is having my feet on the ground and being fully present in all situations. I choose to view my world through the lens of compassion—listening to the words that are spoken, hearing any unspoken needs, and accepting the grace and dignity of all.
